Additional NotesOriginally, the Impreza 22B-STi version was limited to 400 examples for the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) only. However, due to high demand from overseas additional cars were built for export.

Of these, 15 or 16 (sources disagree) were officially imported into the United Kingdom as “22B STi type UK”. The type UK cars were not made available to customers until the following year (c. March 1999) due to import restrictions, and were also modified in the UK by Prodrive with a longer final driver ratio (3.900:1), ECU reprogrammed to suit UK fuel, 1999 model year headlight, UK-spec rear light clusters with integrated fog light and amber indicator lens, speedometer showing miles-per-hour, special “type UK” floor mats, and no serial number plaque.

Five examples were officially imported into Australia, four being made available to customers and one being retained by the Australian Importers.
