Additional NotesSubaru Impreza Turbo 2000 AWD RB5
Limited Edition car for the UK market to commemorate Richard Burn returning to the Prodrive run Subaru World Rally Team for the 1999 Season. Officially 444 examples were built, sharing mechanical specification with the UK Impreza Turbo 2000, and all were finished in 86F “Steel Blue Metallic” paintwork with black and blue Alcantara-trimmed interior. Additional equipment over the Impreza Turbo 2000 included 17-inch Speedline alloy wheels, a short-shift gear lever, a larger rear spoiler, RB5 exterior decals and floor mats, and a numbered plaque on the centre console.

The RB5 also was available from new with optional “WR Sport” Prodrive Enhancement Package that included the Prodrive Performance Package (PPP) with remapped ECU to give additional peak power and torque, a Prodrive WRC replica rear spoiler, and “WR Sport” instrument dials. This package was fitted in the UK post-production so cars with the package can not be identified by the VIN plate, but it is believed that 120 examples were upgraded to this specification from new.
