Subaru EJ22

Subaru introduced the EJ Series of horizontally opposed, 4-cylinder, overhead camshaft engines in 1989, with the first generation Subaru Legacy. The EJ22 version has a displacement of 2,212cc and was initially standard in the USA, but was also used in certain vehicles in other markets.
